This career break is dedicated to full-time parenting while building Snapper โ€” an independently built, AI-assisted trading and market-data platform with multi-operator workflows. The platform handles cryptocurrency and commodity market data, paper execution, live-execution adapters, and multi-strategy backtesting on a single bitemporal data model. A cross-asset risk framework applies uniformly across BTC perpetuals, WTI futures, and gold. Three public components are published under the MIT License (snapper-mcp, snapper-frontend, and snapper-ios); the core backend remains private. The work also includes three open-source projects: hestia, a cloud-free smart-home server built with Python/aiohttp and SQLite around a clean-room reimplementation of Keemple's cleartext 0x7e binary protocol, with a 433 MHz RTL-SDR feeder, a dashboard in 45 languages, and 100% line and branch coverage (AGPL-3.0); Vesta, a native SwiftUI iOS client for hestia with API types generated from its OpenAPI contract, live SSE updates, automatic reconnection, multi-gang control, 45 languages, full right-to-left support, and a comprehensive unit-test suite (Apache-2.0); and rdsclock, a pure-Python passive RDS Clock-Time receiver that recovers UTC from FM radio when GPS and NTP are unavailable (Apache-2.0).
